POLICE LOG for July 26: Crash At West St. & Lowell St.; Butters Row Speeding; Rifle Found; Skunk Issues

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, July 26, 2017:

  • Police installed six car safety seats during its weekly drop-in installation hours. (11am)
  • Animal Control Officer responded to call of a sink skunk on Kilmarnock Street. Skunk is under a shed. Officer to set up a trap. (12:07am)
  • A caller reported NAPA employees were unpacking a shipment and came across an unmarked box with a new rifle inside. (12:36pm)
  • A black 2014 Chevy Silverado and a black 2012 Jeep Liberty were involved in a crash at West Street and Lowell Street. Vehicles moved into Little Sprouts parking lot. No injuries noted. One vehicle towed. (3:38pm)
  • A Main Street caller reported 3 or 4 baby skunks living under their garage. (3:49pm)
  • A Butters Row caller reported excessive speeding occurring daily, worst between 7am to 9am and 3pm to 7pm.  She requested additional traffic enforcement in the area. (5:31pm)
  • A Cumberland Farms employee reported a customer appeared to be under the influence, driving a white Chevy pickup. Police were unable to locate. (7:36pm)
  • A caller reported yelling on Boutwell Street. Police responded to a children’s party, supervised by adults, with kids playing basketball. (9:47pm)
