POLICE LOG for July 16: Paraglider Over Wilmington; Suspicious Activity Called In

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, July 16, 2017:

  • A Manning Street resident called to report a paraglider flying over his house for the past 45 minutes. (6:38am)
  • A passerby reported people were sleeping in a vehicle in the Bank of America parking lot. Situation checked OK. (4:29pm)
  • A white 2005 Ford Ranger backed into a gray 2014 Kia Optima in front of the Registry of Motor Vehicles on Middlesex Avenue. (5:02pm)
  • Police noted a refrigerator with door still attached on the curb on Marion Street Ext. Police advised the homeowner, who agreed to remove or fasten them so they can’t be open. (5:57pm)
  • Police out with six juveniles in field behind Town Hall. Kids were playing tag and waiting to see the Northern Lights. Police spoke with parents on the phone, who were comfortable with the kids being there. Situation checked OK. (9:01pm)
  • A caller reported suspicious activity on Harris Street. A vehicle pulled over and an occupant retrieved a package from the woods. Same situation happened a few times over the past week.  Police spoke with homeowner, who will leave message for her daughter. (9:11pm)
  • A Pinewood Road caller reported a loud noise coming from the wooded area behind his house. He wasn’t sure if it’s just wildlife in the area. Police responded and found nothing suspicious. (11:30pm)
