POLICE LOG for July 15: Bicyclist Giving Drivers The Bird; Multiple Calls Of Dogs In Vehicles

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, July 15, 2017:

  • Police came across a vehicle playing loud music on Kiernan Avenue. Vehicle will remain in area overnight and a sober drive will come by in the morning to pick up. Vehicle’s owner was taken to station to be picked up and driven home. (2:49am)
  • A caller reported their brother-in-law lost his cell phone and wallet when he drove away with them on his vehicle.  His drive began on Magazine Road. (12:00pm)
  • A caller reported a dog left in a vehicle in the Market Basket parking lot. Operator was back at vehicle before an officer was dispatched. (2:01pm)
  • Police were flagged down by 3 parties on Shawsheen Avenue claiming a female was riding a bicycle in traffic giving people the middle finger. Police spoke with the female and sent her on her way. (6:02pm)
  • A caller reported a past hit and run in the Red Heat Tavern parking lot. (7:34pm)
  • A caller reported two dogs in a locked vehicle in the Red Heat Tavern parking lot. Two windows cracked. Police responded. Dog checked OK. Vehicle seemed cool enough. Police will check on them later. (8:28pm)
  • A caller reported receiving annoying phone calls on his cell phone. The annoying calls would include swears, then a hang up. Police logged the incident. Caller will notify police if behavior continues. (11:52pm)
