WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, July 19, 2017:
- Police gave a courtesy ride to Tewksbury to parties who fell asleep on the Commuter Rail train. (1:27am)
- A green 2005 Chevy Equinox rolled over on Ballardvale Street. Andover Fire Department transported driver. Vehicle towed. (7:35am)
- A bobcast or fisher cat was spotted walking down Madison Road. (10:06am)
- Police issued 8 citations for failure to renew their dog licenses. (1:35pm)
- Police notified RMLD of a wire down in a Church Street yard. (2:23pm)
- A dump truck dropped 300 yards of stone all over Route 38, near Town Park (Aprile Field). Mass Highway Department and Wilmington DPW cleaned up roadway. Police awaiting on surveillance video from nearby business. One driver said a falling stone from the dump truck smashed one of her headlights. Another drive noted damage to the underside of his vehicle. (2:30pm)
- Police notified Comcast of a downed wire on Wildwood Street. (6:00pm)
- A West Street caller wanted it logged that a man claiming to do customer service for Verizon knocked on her door about 20 minute ago. (7:25pm)
- A Shell Gas Station employee reported a customer admitted to him he was driving drunk. License plate came back as cancelled. Vehicle was last scene heading towards Woburn. Wilmington Police notified Woburn Police. (9:15pm)
- A Shawsheen Avenue caller reported hearing gun shots. Police checked neighborhood and were unable to locate anything suspicious. (9:27pm)
