WILMINGTON, MA — Gerald F. Copson, age 80, of Wilmington, passed away surrounded by his family on July 19, 2017.
Gerald was the devoted father of Karen Roudabush & her husband Bob of OH, Mark Copson of Plymouth, Gerald Copson & his wife Cheryl, Debbie McLaughlin all of Wilmington and Bill Copson & his wife Patty of Woburn, loving “Grampa” of Jennifer Furry, Stephen Madden, Mathew Copson, Jesica Boston, Kevin Copson, Lauren Copson, Christopher Copson, Nicholas Copson, Gerald Copson, Jr., Ryan Copson, Olivia Copson, Morgan McLaughlin and Devon McLaughlin, great- “Grampa” of Ryan, Logan, Camryn, Madison, Macy, Ava, Casey, Kami, Destiny, Hailey, Damyen, Connor, Charlotte and Lilliana, cherished son of the late William A. and Florence G. (Collins) Copson, dear brother of Sister Dorothy Copson and Jean Copson. Gerald is also survived by his former spouse and friend, Judith Welch.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, July 25th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, July 24th from 4:00 -7:00 p.m.
Memorial donations in Gerald’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
At the family’s request, please feel free to wear something red in memory of Gerald.
