POLICE LOG for July 5: Suspected Drug Transaction In Plaza Parking Lot; Neighbor Dispute; Grill Fire

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, July 5, 2017:

  • Police notified DPW to pick up firework debris in the Town Park (April Field) parking lot. (1:08am)
  • A walk-in party located a wallet on Hopkins Street.  Police contacted owner via Facebook. Owner is in the military and currently out-of-state. Owner arranged for a friend to pick up at station. (9:56am)
  • A Chestnut Street resident reported receiving threats via Facebook. (12:52pm)
  • A caller reported her back window was smashed out in the Gym St. USA parking lot sometime between 7am and now. Police viewed video surveillance. It appeared a landscaper was in the area and may have kicked up a rock causing damage. (12:57pm)
  • A Heavenly Donuts employee reported a female was in the parking lot for 45 minutes. Police located female on the Burlington Avenue bridge walking home. She checked OK. (2:59pm)
  • A caller reported a possible drug transaction in the Wilmington Plaza parking lot, in front of Panera Bread.  A kid on a bicycle rode up to a red Dodge Charger in the parking lot and made a hand-to-hand transaction (money and a plastic bag). Both parties took off.  Police were unable to locate or match a partial plate number. (3:06pm)
  • A Lake Street resident reported the same neighbors are constantly trespassing on her property. Police spoke with both parties. Both claim the property in question is theirs.  Police advised both to follow up with Town Hall. (4:33pm)
  • A Beverly Avenue resident reported a grill caught fire with extension to porch. Resident believes she put it all out.  Fire Department did respond. (6:35pm)
