POLICE LOG for July 4: Kids Setting Off Fireworks At Town Hall; Suspicious Man In Target Parking Lot; Ducklings In Drain

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, July 4, 2017:

  • Police disposed of leftover used fireworks in the area of the Boutwell Street. (4:59am)
  • Fire Department responded to 3 ducklings which fell into a drain on Lt. Buck Drive. (6:31am)
  • Police contacted Eastern Bank after customer called to note ceiling tiles above ATM have been moved and the door to the ATM is not functioning properly. (6:50am)
  • A Jewel Drive caller observed remotely on his camera system a larger older model vehicle pulled into his lot overnight, but did not see anyone exit. Police responded. Driver had just gotten evicted and was looking for a place to stay. (7:41am)
  • A minor hit and run, resulting into minor scuff bumper damage, took place in the Market Basket parking lot. (2:32pm)
  • Target reported a man riding a bicycle in the parking lot, looking into cars. Police responded. Man claimed he was looking for money on the ground around the vehicles. Man was sent on his way. (3:45pm)
  • During a check of Town Hall, police witnessed juveniles setting off fireworks in the field. Youths took off on foot into woods. Police unable to locate. (9:13pm)
