Tremezzo Ristorante was previously featured on “Wicked Bites” back in the spring of 2015.
Correspondent Leigh Gilmore visited the restaurant to interview Chef & Owner James Martin. Martin discussed the restaurant’s concept and highlighted several of the most popular menu items, including neopolitian pizza, fried calamari, melanzana fritta, center cut rib eye, and veal chops. Martin stressed that everything is made in house, including ten types of pasta. He mentioned the restaurant’s signature drinks include an inhouse sangria and a pineapple infused crystal head vodka.
“I don’t think Wilmington has ever seen the type of food that we have,” said Martin.
Gilmore then visited with Martin and Chef Obarr Lemos in the kitchen to help them each prepare a meal. Martin made a porcini tortelonni while Lemos made a “brunch pizza.”
The restaurant earned rave reviews from the show. Gilmore said the food “was to die for” and the restaurant was “gorgeous.” Co-host Mike Wendt noted that the food was “phenomenal” and declared that Martin was a great chef. Co-host Scott Whitley said he loved all of the restaurant’s food, which he referred to as “works of art” because of their “incredible” presentation.
