POLICE LOG for June 14: Crackdown On Crosswalk Violations; Butters Row Issues; Register Your Dogs!

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are TWELVE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, June 14, 2017:

  • Police came across an unresponsive male in a vehicle parked in the AFGA parking lot. Fire Department responded. Male admitted to smoking marijuana. Fire Department arrived to continue evaluation. (12:41am)
  • Police conduced school bus enforcement on Salem Street. No violations observed. (7:25am)
  • A caller reported a tanker trunk was attempting to go over the Butters Row Bridge. Police responded and advised truck to go down Route 62. (7:51am)
  • A walk-in party from the town’s Water Department reported a trash barrel was left by the pumping station on Salem Street with possible gunholes in it. (8:08am)
  • A caller reported his Somerville Avenue house was egged around 3:30am on Monday. (9:10am)
  • Police issued FIFTEEN citations for failure to yield to pedestrians in sidewalks on Middlesex Avenue, Lowell Street and Woburn Street. (throughout the morning and afternoon)
  • John McNally (48, Windham, NH) was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a crosswalk violation. (10:56am)
  • A hit and run was reported in the parking lot of Pacific Packaging on Industrial Way in the last 25 minutes. (11:24am)
  • Police issued FOURTEEN citations for unlicensed dogs. (2:10pm)
  • A Butters Row resident reported he was almost struck by a vehicle when retrieving his mail. He requests additional enforcement activities. (5:57pm)
  • A Tracy Circle caller reported an injured turkey may be stuck in a tree in her yard. (7:55pm)
  • A caller reported her daughter is being bullied at school at the North. (8:44pm)
