WHS GIRLS TENNIS: Wildcats Eliminated From Playoffs With Loss To Wayland

WAYLAND, MA — The WHS Girls Varsity Tennis Team (12-7) was defeated by Wayland High, 4-1, in Wayland, on Wednesday, June 7, in second round playoff action.  

  • Wilmington sophomore Emily Hill lost to Izzy Essi, 6-0, 6-0.
  • Wilmington senior Sam Maragioglio lost to Audrey Camacho, 6-0, 6-0.
  • Wilmington sophomore Lia Kourkoutas lost to Sydney Hsu, 6-0, 6-0.
  • Wilmington senior Christina Woods and freshman Carolyn Roney lost to Amanda Armstrong and Nora Dvertani, 6-0, 6-0.
  • Wilmington juniors Lauren Field and Christina Wright defeated Nicole Erdekiran and Mallory Leonard, 6-4, 6-4.

Having won its first postseason match against North Andover last week, congratulations to the Wildcats for their most successful season in program history.
