WILMINGTON, MA — It’s a dog owner’s worst fear. Hershey got loose and was hit by a car on Wednesday afternoon in Wilmington. He sustained serious injuries and will require extensive care. Taken to an emergency vet in Woburn, Hershey received a blood transfusion and, as of Wednesday night, is stable. He is, however, suffering from oozing wounds, nerve damage, and possible hip and spine fractures. Hershey will be receiving a cat scan and possibly an MRI to rule out further injuries. Vet bills are currently estimated at $9,500.
If you’d like to help Hershey “get back up on his paws soon,” a verified GoFundMe page has been set up HERE.
