WHS SOFTBALL: Wildcats Winning Streak Snapped, Lose Game & Horgan

WILMINGTON, MA — The WHS Varsity Softball team (14-5) lost its regular season finale to Everett, 6-4, on Sunday, May 28 at Town Park.

The Wildcats’ impressive winning streak ended at 6.  Wilmington got off to a rough start when Everett’s first two batters reached on walks and later scored.  Wilmington would respond with two runs of their own, but then lose one of its major offensive threats — Shannon Horgan — due to an injury suffered during a collision at home plate.  Horgan’s absence proved costly as the Wildcats could not string any hits together for the rest of the game.

The Wildcats await to learn their first-round playoff opponent.  MIAA brackets will be released on Tuesday, May 30.
