WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Monday, May 29, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see rain, mainly after 2pm. Patchy fog after 2pm. High near 57. Calm wind becoming east 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
#2) The Wilmington Memorial Day Parade begins at 10am. The Memorial Day Ceremony begins at 11am at Wildwood Cemetery. See the complete schedule, and parade divisions, HERE.
#3) TRAFFIC ADVISORY: During the parade, the following road closures will be in effect:
- Main Street between Richmond Street and Route 62
- Church Street (Route 62)
- Middlesex Avenue between Adams Street and Federal Street
Once the parade is complete, Middlesex Avenue will remain closed between Federal Street & Glen Road until the ceremonies at Wildwood Cemetery conclude.
Motorists should expect significant traffic delays and seek alternate routes.
#4) TRASH & RECYCLING REMINDER: Due to the Memorial Day, Wilmington’s residential trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day. Monday’s normal collection will be on Tuesday, Tuesday’s collection will be on Wednesday, and so on…concluding with Friday’s collection occurring on Saturday.
