WILMINGTON, MA — The WHS Varsity Baseball team defeated Watertown High, 3-0, at Victory Field in Watertown on Monday, May 15. With the victory, the team, riding a four game winning streak, has qualified for the state tournament.
Senior Darin “Red Dog” MacEacheron threw a complete game 3-hit gem on just 62 pitches. MacEacheron finished with four strikeouts, no walks, and recorded six 1-2-3 innings.
Jared Aucoin, Dan Gracia, Chris Grecco, Matt Rideout, and Graham Smith all recorded hits for the Wildcats. A Rideout double scored Ben Maynard and Tom Worob in the third inning. A Grecco single scored Gracia in the fourth inning.
Grecco, Maynard, and Smith all made key defensive plays to protect the Wildcats 3-1 victory.
