POLICE LOG for May 13: Police Enforce No Dogs Rule at Yentile Farm, Rental Truck Involved In Hit & Run

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SIX highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, May 13, 2017:

  • Police conducted a check of Yentile Farm Recreational Facility.  An individual walking their dog was advised dogs were not allowed. Police noted minimal trash. (6:42am)
  • Police conducted community policing and provided a Color Guard at the Yentile Farm Open House. (8:45am-11am)
  • A caller reported a white man, in his 20’s, wearing a bright yellow shirt and baseball hat, carrying a large trash bag, appearing confused, at the Wildwood Street School.  Police responded.  The person in question was a high school student picking up trash. (11:11am)
  • A Chapman Avenue caller reported a water leak in the house.  He asked the water be shut off from the street. Police notified the Water Department. (3:50pm)
  • A resident reported a white Enterprise truck struck a pole on Nickerson Avenue and took off.  Pole had heavy damage and wires were down in the street. Police notified RMLD and Verizon.  Police called Enterprise Rental Company in Woburn, but business was closed. (4:21pm)
  • A nearby resident reported a blue sport bike repeatedly traveling up and down Lowell Street using excessive speed, doing “burn outs” in the roadway.  Police responded, found the bike in a driveway, and advised homeowner to tell operator to obey speed limits. (5:24pm)  Operator later called the station and claimed he was tuning the bike and will not speed. (5:42pm)
