POLICE LOG for April 29: Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes Into Pole; Rule Breaking At Yentile Farm

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, April 29, 2017:

  • Grant Eli Darveau (23, Hudson, NH) was arrested for OUI Liquor and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Darveau drove his 2016 Chevy Silverado in a telephone pole on Salem Street. Verizon was notified. Road was closed. Vehicle was towed. NO injuries noted. (12:07am)
  • Police moved along several cars from the fire lane in front of Market Basket. (10:14am)
  • Police received report of a possible shoplifter at Main Street Consignment on Main Street. Woman in question had grey hair, black leather jack and black purse, driving a new model grey Toyota Corolla. Police were unable to locate. (12:44pm)
  • Police were called to Town Meeting at the High School. (1:00pm)
  • Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Ballardvale Street. (3:15pm)
  • A Chestnut Street caller reported two dirt bikes were cutting through his backyard.  Police spoke with grandparents of dirt bike drivers, who say parents will handle the situation. (3:51pm)
  • During a check of Yentile Farm, police noted several bottles and trash near entrance. (4:43pm)
  • Police received a complaint of people rollerblading with a dog on the track at Yentile Farm.  Police spoke with the individuals and sent them on their way. (7:48pm)
  • A group of youths were causing a disturbance at McDonald’s and refused to leave the parking lot. Police responded and sent them on their way. (8:10pm)  Juveniles were returned and again refused to leave. Police responded again. A parent took custody of all the children. (9:03pm)
