WHS GIRLS TENNIS: Wildcats Playing Very Well, Record Stands At 5-2

WILMINGTON, MA —The WHS Girls Varsity Tennis Team defeated Stoneham High, 5-0, at Wilmington High on Thursday, April 27:

• Wilmington sophomore Emily Hill defeated Louisa Melchionno, 6-4, 6-0.
• Wilmington sophomore Lia Kourkoutas defeated Stephanie Lee, 6-1, 6-4.
• Wilmington sophomore Jess D’Arco defeated Erin Cleary, 6-4, 6-1.
• Wilmington senior Christina Woods and freshman Carolyn Roney defeated Haley Clapp and Sarah Teh, 6-1, 6-0.
• Wilmington juniors Fariha Hague and Jill Roche defeated Juliana Choi and Liz Cullen, 6-1, 6-1.

The WHS Girls Varsity Tennis Team then dropped their a match-up against Watertown, 5-0, in Burlington on Friday, April 28:

• Wilmington sophomore Emily Hill fell to Maddy Metzdorf, 6-1, 6-2.
• Wilmington sophomore Lia Kourkoutas fell to Megan Doherty, 6-1, 6-1.
• Wilmington sophomore Jess D’Arco fell to Arya Bhat, 6-1, 6-0.
• Wilmington senior Christina Woods and freshman Carolyn Roney fell to Lauren Carlson and Elie Yu, 7-5, 6-3.
• Wilmington senior Christina Wright and Lauren Field fell to  Erica Van Stry and Madison McDonald, 6-2, 6-4, 7-5.
