Dear Editor,
I would like to sincerely thank the voters of Wilmington for returning me to the School Committee.
I would especially like to thank the many people who supported my campaign in so many ways. I am so appreciative of the people who allowed me to clutter their yards with campaign signs. Your willingness to publicly proclaim your support for me is an honor.
I am truly indebted to those friends who gave up their time to hold signs on such a cold, misty day. Why is it always nasty weather on election day?
Thank you to each of the other candidates on the School Committee ballot for creating a spirited, though cordial, campaign. The voters deserve options on election day, and they had great choices in this race. I hope that all the candidates will feel comfortable staying in touch with me and providing their valuable input.
I’d like to congratulate Jennifer Bryson on her victory and welcome her to the School Committee. Her background in education is impeccable. I’ve gotten to know her during the campaign and very much look forward to working alongside her. She is most definitely a team player and will be a very effective member of Committee.
I look forward to continuing to work on behalf of Wilmington schools with my colleagues on the Committee. We will bring stability back to the District and will continue working toward the common goal of providing the young people of Wilmington with the best possible educational experience.
Sincerely,
Stephen Bjork
