POLICE LOG for April 7: Texting Crackdown — 10 Drivers Ticketed; Needles Found In Cemetery

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, April 7, 2017:

  • Cemetery workers found four hypodermic needles in various parts of the Wildwood Cemetery. Police retrieved for destruction. (8:11am)
  • Police issued two citations for texting while driving on Main Street. (9:10am, 9:46am)
  • Police notified DPW of potholes forming on Hopkins Street. (10:37am)
  • A 16-year-old was issued a summons for possessing a fake RMV document, being a junior operator with a passenger under 18, and speeding. (10:52am)
  • Police issued eight citations for texting while driving on Main Street. (4:04pm-5:31pm)
  • Police was flagged down by a passerby concerned about underage drinking and marijuana use at Tewksbury’s Junior Prom. Police will follow up with Tewksbury’s School Resource Officer. (5:57pm)
  • Flooding occurred at Phillips Avenue and Wild Avenue, but police deemed the road was still passable. (6:13pm)
