WHS 9/11 Memorial Committee Raises Funds For Wilmington Fire Department, Awarded Grant

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington High School 9/11 Memorial Committee was recently awarded a $200 grant from MyGoodDeed, the national non-profit group which annually leads the 9/11 Day observance.

Wilmington High School was one of just 40 schools selected nation-wide, and one of only two schools from Massachusetts.

The Wilmington High School 9/11 Memorial Committee is using the monies to help fund a field trip to the Boston Public Gardens 9/11 Memorial on Monday, May 1, 2017.

Committee members and club advisors Mark Staffier and Tracey Kassin will be making an important pit stop on May 1 before departing Wilmington.

The Committee will be visiting the Public Safety Building at 9am to present the Wilmington Fire Department with some “much needed supplies.”

The Committee was able to fulfill its annual 9/11 Day pledge by purchasing these supplies, including flag poles, thanks to a series of student-organized fundraisers, including the selling of ‘Never Forget’ magnets.
