WILMINGTON, MA — Chief Michael R. Begonis reports that the Wilmington Police Department has arrested a Wilmington man and charged him in connection with an indecent exposure incident, which occurred earlier this week.
After an investigation by the Wilmington Police Detectives, Matthew P. Furlong, age 29, of Wilmington, was arrested at his residence this morning.
Furlong is charged with open and gross lewdness.
The charge stems from an incident which occurred on March 13, 2017 at Heav’nly Donuts located at 579 Main Street.
Furlong was arraigned at Woburn District Court on March 17, 2017.

EDITOR’S NOTE: According to Lisa Redmond of the Wilmington Patch, Furlong was released this afternoon on $300 cash bail on the condition that he stay away from Heav’nly Donuts, stay away from the female clerk, and continue to receive mental health treatment.
Prosecutor Kristen Hughes, according to Redmond, said that Furlong has a history of exposing himself. He’s done it at least once before while in his car at a Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru window. Defense attorney Doug Sears argued that Furlong has a “significant mental health issue” and is seeking treatment. Read more HERE.
