POLICE LOG for March 12: Embarrassing Call Over Coyote Decoy; Skimmer Possibly Placed At Gas Station

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SIX highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, March 12, 2017:

  • A Glen Road caller reported his garage doors were kicked in sometime over night. (2:20pm)
  • A caller reported a dead deer near a parking lot on Cross Street. Police responded. “Animal” was not a deer, but a fake coyote used to keep geese off the grass. (3:41pm)
  • Police issued a verbal warning to a driver for parking in the Fire Lane outside of Market Basket in the Wilmington Plaza. (4:38pm, 6:31pm)
  • A Bond Street caller reported his neighbor’s elderly dog has been outside barking for hours in 20 degree weather. Caller claimed it’s an ongoing issue. Police responded. Owner claimed dog was outside for just 10 minutes. Owner claimed they’re trying to find a new owner for the dog since they just had a baby. The original caller is willing to take possession of the dog. Animal Control Officer will follow up with both parties to transfer ownership. (7:27pm)
  • A blue 2001 Ford Taurus and a gray 2004 Dodge Ram Truck were involved in a crash at Savers on Main Street. No injuries noted. Both vehicles towed. (8:09pm)
  • A possible skimmer may have been placed at Speedway in Main Street after a credit card fraud was reported. (8:21pm)
