WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for the week of Sunday, February 26, 2017.
Sunday, February 26:
- An uber driver stated he dropped off an intoxicated male at a Pinewood Road home, but was worried the male did not immediately enter the house. The driver called back, stating the male finally entered the house. Police responded and found the neighborhood quiet. (12:41am)
- A caller reported that approximately 30 minutes ago, an occupant in a passing red Jeep Wrangler threw something the driver’s side rear of the vehicle, striking her windshield and causing a crack. Caller provided the license plate number. Police spoke with the Wrangler’s owner. Owner’s daughter was driving the vehicle at the time and agreed to restitution. (12:50pm)
- A caller found a broken insulin pen in the parking lot of Villanova Hall. Police retrieved for destruction. (1:17pm)
- A black 2015 Chevy Cruze and a gray 2004 Cadillac de Ville were involved in a crash on Nichols Street. Cruze operator said the de Ville fled the scene after the accident. Billerica Police caught up with the de Ville operator at their home. It was determined the accident happened in Billerica. Billerica Police to handle. (4:40pm)
- Fire Department responded to an oven fire on Radcliff Road. (7:36pm)
Monday, February 27:
- Police assisted the Reading Police with a breaking & entering in progress on Oakdale Road in Reading. Reading Police placed one in custody. (12:47am)
- Police issued a handicap parking violation in the Market Basket parking lot. (10:13am) A walk-in party later came to the station to present their handicap placard and the citation was voided. (10:42am)
- Police issued a citation for texting while driving near CVS on Main Street. (10:45am) Police issued a similar citations near the Middle School (11:10am), Sunrise Market. (1:55pm), and on Adam Street (2:45pm)
- A caller reported a vehicle struck a mailbox on Glen Road and continuing towards Middlesex Avenue. Police located the vehicle and passed operator information to homeowner. (12:38pm)
- A Horseshoe Lane resident reported an unknown amount of money missing from her apartment over the past 2 years. (3:33pm)
- Police issued more than 25 speeding citations or warnings throughout the day in several areas of town, including Butters Row and Aldrich Road.
Tuesday, February 28:
- Police came across a man sleeping ins his vehicle at Town Park (Aprile Field). Police sent him on his way. (1:53am)
- Police conducted school bus enforcement at Emerald Avenue and Andover Street. No violations were observed. (6:17am)
- Police issued 2 speeding citations on Glen Road and 2 speeding citations near the Wildwood School. (8:38am)
- A resident requested extra patrols at Woburn Street and Elm Street around 8:30am due to vehicles not stopping for pedestrian in sidewalk or flashing school bus lights. (11:12am)
- Police issued 10 parking citations in the MBTA Parking Lot on Main Street. (1:37pm)
- North Reading Police passed along a report of a man in a vehicle at Park Street and Woburn Street, smoking something out of tinfoil. Police were unable to locate. (3:42pm)
- A caller reported an erratic operator in a black 1998 Honda CRV pulled into the parking lot of Cumberland Farms. Police requested narcotics K9 from Burlington and conducted a search of the vehicle. 4 males were brought to the station. 1 was released to his parent with no charges. 3 of the males were arrested:
- Paul Foster (18, Billerica) was arrested for Possession to Distribute Class C drug, Possession of a Class C drug, Possession to Distribute Class D drug (x2), trafficking in cocaine, and misleading police officer.
- Sean Kelly (18, Billerica) was arrested for Possession of a Class B drug.
- Joseph R. Pineau (19, Wilmington) was arrested for Possession to Distribute Class D drug and carrying a dangerous weapon. (5:33pm)
Wednesday, March 1:
- A 2015 Honda CRV and a gray 2013 Toyota Highlander were involved in a crash at Route 62 and the 93 North Exit 40 ramp. An unknown vehicle did not stop coming off the ramp, causing the accident. Airbag deployment. No injuries. Both vehicles towed. (8:40am)
- Andrew Escobar (33, Wilmington) was issued a summons for larceny over $250 by a single scheme at Target. (9:01am)
- A Butters Row resident reported a sink skunk in their yard. Animal Control Officer brought skunk to a vet, where it was euthanized. (11:114am)
- Police noted damage to a pump station on Salem Street due to the discharge of a firearm. (11:15am)
- Police installed 5 safety seats during its weekly drop-in hours at the station. (1:31pm)
- A gray 2015 Subaru Legacy and a white 2014 Chevy Cruze were involved in a crash at Clark Street and Middlesex Avenue. One of the vehicles was (presumably) driven by a driving student. Driving instructor requested a medical evaluation, but then refused being transported to a hospital. Both vehicles were drivable. (6:46pm)
- A Shawsheen Avenue resident reported a van going back and forth on the street with its hazards on, pulling into multiple driveways and backing out. Driver got out and rang her doorbell. Police checked the area, but could not locate the van. (8:29pm)
Thursday, March 2:
- Wilmington Police assisted North Reading Police in attempting to arrest a man for failure to register as a sex offender. Police located man at Jimmy’s Garage on Main Street. (5:56am)
- Police issued 4 speeding citations on Carter Lane. (7:30am-8:54am)
- A tree fell onto the garage at the Harnden Tavern on Salem Street. No apparent damage done. (10:54am)
- Police issued 9 parking citations in the MBTA Parking Lot on Main Street. (12:54pm)
- Town employees requested police escort four youths out of Town Hall for causing a disturbance. (3:30pm)
- A vehicle parked in the driveway of 10 Fiorenza Drive, rolled into and through the yard of 8 Fiorenza Drive, and struck the foundation of the home at 6 Fiorenza Drive. (3:54pm)
- Man reported he was at Golden Ginger with a woman on a blind date when the woman started yelling and causing a disturbance. Police responded and spoke with restaurant staff, who confirmed the disturbance. Woman had since left. (8:32pm)
- Jonathan Rivera (29, Nashua) was arrested on warrants. Rivera was in a single car accident on Research Drive. (11:52pm)
Friday, March 3:
- Police conducted school bus enforcement at Emerald Avenue and Andover Street, and Butters Row and Elizabeth Drive, and Salem Street. No violations noted. (6:12am, 6:26am, 7:21am)
- Police assisted with motor vehicle lockouts at Cumberland Farm and Market Basket. (6:15am, 7:56am)
- The business manager for Dagle Electric reported fraudulent activity on the company’s bank account. (12:25pm)
- A Grand Street caller reported he had his land surveyed yesterday and a neighbor came out and removed one of the stakes. Caller noted he served the neighbor with a no trespass order. (12:54pm)
- A gray 2003 Honda Accord and a red 2010 Jeep Patriot were involved in a crash at Butters Row and Main Street. No injuries. One vehicle towed. (4:32pm)
- A Westdale Avenue homeowner reported his trash barrel is missing after being blown away in the wind. Police notified DPW. (4:41pm)
- A Kenwood Avenue homeowner reported his recycling bin is missing after being blown away in the wind. Police notified DPW. (5:57pm)
- Fire Department responded to a small house fire on Shady Lane Drive. Fire involved power tools in the basement and was put out prior to arrival. (6:33pm)

Saturday, March 4:
- Joseph Estrella (24, Wilmington) was arrested on a probation warrant. (12:43am)
- Police issued a handicap parking citation in the Adams St.-side parking lot at Wilmington High School. (10:17am)
- Police advised real estate agent that vehicles at an open house on Salem Street were parked in travel lane and too close to an intersection. (11:38am)
- A caller reported a tree was down in the road on Winter Street. Police notified DPW. (4:35pm)
- Police spoke to employees at Advanced Auto Parts on Main Street for parking vehicles in the fire lane and doing full maintenance on them. Police will speak with manager on Monday. (4:55pm)
- Police noted an individual illegally dumped a purple couch next to the dumpster at Wilmington Town Hall. (5:02pm)
- A North Street caller reported that at 1:30pm this afternoon, a man rang her doorbell twice and then walked to her back porch and looked in the windows. When she asked what he wanted, he said he was looking for a lost dog. He said he reported the dog missing to the police, but police have no record of a missing dog in the area. (6:43pm)
- A Broad Street resident reported her house was just egged. (8:14pm)
- Several vehicles, 3 homes on Woodland Road, Lucci’s Supermarket, and the Dunkin in the Lucci’s plaza were all egged. (11:59pm)
