WILMINGTON, MA – The Wilmington School Committee released the following press statement on Friday evening relative to its Superintendent Search:
The Wilmington School Committee met on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 to review applicants for the position of Superintendent. In response to the post on SchoolSpring.com, the committee received responses from 41 applicants. Ken Storlazzi, WPS Director of HR, assisted the committee in screening out applicants without the proper licensure and required education.
Selecting the next Superintendent of Wilmington Public Schools is the responsibility of the Wilmington School Committee. The committee recognizes the enormity and importance of making the best decision for our students and staff. The number of applicants received was significantly more than anticipated and the committee is pleased with the response.
Once finalists are determined, their names will be announced. The committee expects to publicly interview finalists and make an appointment in April. Opportunities for the Wilmington community to meet the finalists will be planned. The next Wilmington School Committee meeting is Wednesday, March 22, starting at 7:00 pm at Wilmington High School. An update regarding the search will be on the agenda.
