POLICE LOG for March 3: Fire In Home; Car vs. Pole; Wind Wreaks Havoc On Trash Barrels

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are TEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, March 3, 2017:

  • Police conducted school bus enforcement at Emerald Avenue and Andover Street, and Butters Row and Elizabeth Drive, and Salem Street. No violations noted. (6:12am, 6:26am, 7:21am)
  • Police assisted with motor vehicle lockouts at Cumberland Farm and Market Basket. (6:15am, 7:56am)
  • The business manager for Dagle Electric reported fraudulent activity on the company’s bank account. (12:25pm)
  • A Grand Street caller reported he had his land surveyed yesterday and a neighbor came out and removed one of the stakes. Caller noted he served the neighbor with a no trespass order. (12:54pm)
  • A gray 2003 Honda Accord and a red 2010 Jeep Patriot were involved in a crash at Butters Row and Main Street. No injuries. One vehicle towed. (4:32pm)
  • A Westdale Avenue homeowner reported his trash barrel is missing after being blown away in the wind. Police notified DPW. (4:41pm)
  • A Kenwood Avenue homeowner reported his recycling bin is missing after being blown away in the wind. Police notified DPW. (5:57pm)
  • Fire Department responded to a small house fire on Shady Lane Drive. Fire involved power tools in the basement and was put out prior to arrival. (6:33pm)
  • Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Aldrich Road. (7:01pm)
  • A gray 2005 Ford Freestyle struck a RMLD pole on Middlesex Avenue. No injuries. RMLD notified. Vehicle towed. (10:14pm)
