WILMINGTON, MA — Elizabeth M. Siracusa, age 62, of Wilmington, passed away on March 3, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
Bett (Betty) is the beloved wife of Thomas W. Siracusa, devoted mother of Thomas W. Siracusa, Jr. & wife Lauren of Hudson, NH, Jennifer E. Greenwood & husband David of Dunstable, Daniel P. Siracusa & fiancée Courtney Conlin of Chelmsford and Elizabeth M. Siracusa & fiancée Shawn Coates of Groton, loving grandmother “Mamo” of Alexandria Greenwood, Emilie Greenwood, Hannah Siracusa, Adrianna Greenwood and Noah Coates, cherished daughter of the late Francis J. and Elizabeth M. (Cunningham) Busby, dear sister of Francis J. Busby & his wife Wendy Finsterwalder of Janesville, MN, sister-in-law of Anthony Siracusa & his wife Donna of Tewksbury. Bett is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Bett was raised in West Peabody, Massachusetts. She attended Bishop Fenwick High School and graduated in 1973.
Bett and Tom met in West Peabody when she was 15 years old. They wed on June 15, 1974 and were married for 42 years. In 1983, they moved to Wilmington, Massachusetts where they raised 4 children.
Anyone who crossed paths with Bett could easily describe her as kind hearted, selfless, loyal, generous, and fun-loving, just to name a few. These qualities shined through her sentiment of the quote, “Live, Laugh, Love”.
Bett was a devout Catholic. In her early years, she began her volunteer services with the elderly and disabled as a candy striper. From there, she continued her volunteer work through her later years as a religious education teacher, as well as a Eucharistic Minister.
Bett followed her calling to support and care for people, practicing as an LPN and later becoming an RN. She worked as an RN with so many who were very fortunate to have her in their lives, including her focuses on the elderly, the disabled, and hospice care. Bett was also able to utilize her nursing skills at American Red Cross and American Training.
Bett had a passion for music and the theater. She had many performances with Pentucket Players, with some of her all-time favorites being Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Oklahoma, and The Sound of Music.
Bett also loved to spend time with her family, including time at the family’s vacation home in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She loved her family with all her heart and was unconditionally devoted to their happiness and well-being.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting Hours will be held at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Tuesday, March 7th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
