TOWN ELECTION Update: Filing Deadline Is TODAY; Kevin MacDonald Pulls Papers

WILMINGTON, MA — Yesterday afternoon, approximately 24 hours before this year’s nomination papers filing deadline, the Town Clerk’s Office provided an election update.

SIX residents have pulled nomination papers to run for the two seats on the Wilmington Board of Selectmen, but only TWO of the six have returned their papers — Mike McCoy (incumbent) and Edward Loud.  Interestingly, Kevin MacDonald, a longtime critic of the town and previous candidate, pulled nomination papers on Thursday, the day before the filing deadline.

SEVEN residents have pulled nomination papers to run for the two seats on the Wilmington School Committee.  SIX of the seven have returned their papers — Stephen Bjork (incumbent), Sabrina Hewitt, Kahtleen O’Donoghue, Amy Largenton, Rhonda Musikar-Rosner and Jennifer Bryson.

Incumbent Stacie Murphy is the only resident to express interest in the Wilmington Housing Authority seat.  It appears Murphy WILL be allowed to run, despite the state’s efforts to reform the makeup of housing authorities.
