POLICE LOG for February 27: 4 Citations For Texting While Driving Issued; WPD Helps Reading With B&E

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SIX highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, February 27, 2017:

  • Police assisted the Reading Police with a breaking & entering in progress on Oakdale Road in Reading. Reading Police placed one in custody. (12:47am)
  • Police issued a handicap parking violation in the Market Basket parking lot. (10:13am)  A walk-in party later came to the station to present their handicap placard and the citation was voided. (10:42am)
  • Police issued a citation for texting while driving near CVS on Main Street. (10:45am) Police issued a similar citations near the Middle School (11:10am), Sunrise Market. (1:55pm), and on Adam Street (2:45pm)
  • A caller reported a vehicle struck a mailbox on Glen Road and continuing towards Middlesex Avenue.  Police located the vehicle and passed operator information to homeowner. (12:38pm)
  • A Horseshoe Lane resident reported an unknown amount of money missing from her apartment over the past 2 years. (3:33pm)
  • Police issued more than 25 speeding citations or warnings throughout the day in several areas of town, including Butters Row and Aldrich Road.
