WILMINGTON, MA — Spring has almost sprung! Plan your springtime activities now! Here’s a sampling of our programs that are geared toward adults, because why should the kids have all the fun?
For those who are crafty or creative…
Our popular ‘Upholstery Workshop’ class returns on Thursday nights, March 9 – April 27 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. For $68.00, our instructor will teach you how to give an old piece of furniture new life. You’ll cover your piece with new fabric, learn to tie springs and re-pad. A supply list will be provided as your individual project progresses. The class motto is ‘If you can carry it, bring it!’
On Friday, March 24 from 6:30-8:00 p.m., we’re offering a ‘Spring Bouquet’ class at Given Erwin Florist. For $42.00, participants will combine a birdhouse with fresh flowers to ‘Welcome Spring!’ All materials and supplies are provided.
If exercise and movement is your thing…
Our popular ‘Yoga for the Full-Figured Woman’ class will be also be returning in March! This class not only introduces beginners to yoga in a relaxed setting, but also challenges returning students. This is a non-intimidating approach to improving your health! For $85.00, you can sign up for Monday afternoons (4-5 p.m., 3/20-5/15, no 4/17) or Thursday nights (7:15-8:15 p.m., 3/16-5/11, no 4/20). Please bring a yoga mat to each class.
Starting on March 29, we’re offering a NEW adult ‘Hula Hooping’ class. This class will meet Wednesday nights from 4-5 p.m. for 8 weeks and costs $85.00. This is a fun, non-impact way to help get in shape. There is a mix of light cardio, core work, arm strength, toning and shaping for thighs, butt and hamstrings – but you won’t notice it because you’ll be busy revisiting your youth and having fun! The instructors are trained to offer modifications for every move, so you’ll be as challenged as your body will allow. All materials are provided.
For those who want to travel…
Want to try your luck? On Tuesday, March 7, hop aboard our motor coach for a day of fun and excitement at Foxwoods! For only $35.00 per person, you’ll receive round-trip transportation to and from Foxwoods as well as casino incentives. Let us do the driving so that you can sit back and relax!
There are still seats available for the Newport Playhouse trip on Sunday, March 26 to watch the performance of ‘Romantic Comedy’. For only $88.00 per person, this trip will include round-trip motor coach transportation, a sightseeing tour of the spectacular mansions along Ocean Drive, a buffet luncheon, and tickets to the performance. As if that wasn’t enough, after the show you will return to the dining room to find that it has been transformed into a captivating Cabaret for another show!
