WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Sunday, February 12, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, areas of snow and freezing drizzle before 8am, then snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 32. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible during the day. At night, Wilmington will receive more snow. Low around 24. East wind 8 to 13 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible overnight.
#2) The Wilmington Dance Academy Team presents its 3rd Annual Father-Daughter Valentine’s Day Ball today, from 10am to 2pm, at the Wilmington Dance Academy (335 Main Street). Children in Grades K and under (10am-noon) and Grades 1 to 3 (noon-2pm) are invited. The ball features dancing, games and refreshments. Couples will receive a frame, boutonniere, and wristlet. #3) The Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) is holding the final day of a Motorcycle Expo today, form 10am to 5pm. Admission costs $10, with free parking. Learn more HERE.
#4) The WHS Boys JV Hockey team travels to Melrose at 12:30pm.
#5) St. Thomas is holding its annual Scout Sunday Mass. All scouts and leaders are invited to come in full uniform to help celebrate mass and the birthday of Boy Scouting and Girls Scouting. Meet in front of the church at 8:45am. After mass, cake and refreshments will be served.
PLUS: The Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm. Learn about the canal, which travels through Wilmington. The Canal Association’s Winter Annual Meeting, originally scheduled for today, has been POSTPONED.
