WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for the week of Sunday, January 22, 2017.
Sunday, January 22:
- A Reading Avenue caller reported a suspicious vehicle in their neighbor’s driveway and unknown person in the garage. Police responded. Individual in question was house sitting for the neighbor. Situation checked OK. (6:28am)
- A caller found a firearm in a holster with two magazines in the parking lot at K1 Speed in Fordham Road. Police responded and recovered the firearm, which was actually an airsoft gun. (8:52am)
- A Denault Drive homeowner reported he received a letter in his mailbox from someone who wants to buy his house. The letter had a phone number attached, but no return information. He wanted the incident logged. (10:55am)
- Police received report of an ATV riding around the field behind Town Hall. ATV was gone by the time police arrived. (1:17pm)
- A deceased cat was reported on Ballardvale Street near Target. (1:19pm)
- Police issued a handicap parking citation to a vehicle in the Target parking lot. (6:26pm)
Monday, January 23:
- Police received report of a large Rottweiler running around a parking lot on Progress Way. Animal Control Officer checked area and was unable to locate. (8:14am)
- Billerica Police reported a Gold 1999 Oldsmobile left their 129 Liquors on Salem Road towards Wilmington. A caller reported the operator appeared to be nodding off. Police were unable to locate. (5:38pm)
- A Marion Street caller reported someone was constantly ringing her front doorbell and back doorbell. Police checked yard and area and found no one. (5:46pm)
- A Shawsheen Avenue resident reported an unknown party threw a rock through their window. Police responded, but were unable to locate the culprit. (6:37pm)
- A walk-in party reported he hit a pedestrian yield sign at Market Basket. Sign was not damaged, but party wanted to report it. (10:08pm)
Tuesday, January 24:
- A Glen Road caller requested an ambulance for her husband. While on the line, caller stated her husband decided to drive himself to the hospital. Police later spoke with the man, who was adamant about driving himself. Police contacted Winchester Hospital and confirmed he arrived. (2:19am)
- A caller reported two men dressed in black rain gear were circling her vehicles on Beeching Avenue. Police responded and eventually arrested three individuals, two of which entered a homeowner’s shed. James V. Ramsey III (20, Essex) was arrested for B&E of vehicle in the night to commit a felony; larceny over $250; and receiving stolen property valued at over $250. Conor Brennan (22, Gloucester) was arrested for B&E of a building in the night to commit a felony; B&E of a vehicle in the night to commit a felony; and receiving stolen property valued at over $250. David P. Tupman (21, Gloucester) was arrested for B&E of a building in the night to a commit a felony; B&E of a vehicle in the night to commit a felony; receiving stolen property valued at over $250; possession of Class B Drug; possession of a Class C Drug; and possession of a Class E Drug. The three individuals broke into at least 7 vehicles.

- A walk-in party reported the portable chainlink fence panels at Yentile Farm has blown over into the roadway. Police notified DPW. (4:44am)
- A black 2015 Nissan Rogue struck a pole on Wisser Street. Vehicle towed. No injuries. RMLD and Veirzon notified. Damage also done to a homeowner’s fence. (8:27am)
- A downed tree took down power lines on Roberts Road. Police notified WFD and Reading Light. DPW placed detour barriers. (9:24am)
- A Forest Street caller reported their mailbox was vandalized overnight. (9:42pm)
- A resident locked herself underneath her deck putting trash barrels back in and cannot get to lock on the outside. Police responded and freed her. (10:56am)
- A resident called 911. He told police he was just making sure 911 worked on his phone and that there was no emergency. (11:40am)
- Police issued 5 parking citations in the MBTA Wilmington Center parking lot. (1:29pm)
- Police issued a citation for failure to stop for a school bus on Salem Street. (2:47pm)
- A Somerville Avenue caller reported his dog was just attacked by his neighbor’s dog in his yard. Animal Control Officer responded and advised neighbor of the leash law. (3:17pm)
- A black 2014 Toyota Camry was driven into a ditch at C&J Lawnmower on Main Street. (4:25pm)
- George A. Sawyer (45, Andover) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration. (4:38pm)
Wednesday, January 25:
- A caller reported graffiti was spray painted on a fence at Windsor Place at West Street. (8:00am)
- A Deming Way Ext. caller reported it appears a vehicle drove over a sidewalk and lawn. Police noted there was no significant damage.(8:32am)
- A gray 2014 Toyota Corolla and a red 2015 Toyota Corolla were involved in a minor crash on Lowell Street. One driver was cited for failure to use caution while stopping. Both vehicles were towed. No injuries noted. (10:46am)
- A Horseshoe Lane caller reported a health aide had been taking items from their residence throughout the fall. (11:14am)
- Police notified DPW over a low-hanging tree limb on West Street. DPW removed the limb. (11:38am)
- Police issued 8 parking citations in the MBTA Parking Lot on Main Street. (12:37pm)
- A caller reported the driver of a vehicle parked the wrong way on a Park Street sidewalk and walked into the woods. Police spoke with the driver who was looking for spots to hunt. Police advised the man of the bylaws prohibiting hunting and sent him on his way. (2:09pm)
- A Glen Road caller reported a vehicle was parked in front of the residence, shining headlights into their home. Resident asked the operator to move along or turn off headlights, but they refused. Police responded and located the vehicle on Lawrence Street. Vehicle was an Agganis driving school car. (8:04pm)
- A walk-in party reported a past road rage incident from Monday at 2:45pm on Glen Road and Gandalf Way. (8:57pm)
Thursday, January 26:
- Police followed a school bus on its route and witnessed no violators. (7:28am)
- Police assisted DPW with traffic at it repaired a mirror on Glen Road. (9:30am)
- Police reported that a pothole was forming around the manhole cover on Main Street near Enterprise. Mass Highway was notified. (9:39am)
- Police received report that graffiti was spray painted on an Avalon Drive building. (11:05am)
- Police issued 8 parking citations in the MBTA Parking Lot on Main Street. (12:18pm)
- A black 2002 Honda Accord and a black 2017 Acura MDX were involved in a crash, with injuries, on the 93 North 40 ramp. Both vehicles towed. One driver was cited for making an illegal u-turn. (12:46pm)
- A Stone Street resident found a large bottle of alcohol and a new green mountain bike behind the fence of her property. (4:17pm)
- Driver of a 2016 Honda Civic reported they were involved in a hit & run in the area of Cross Street and Main Street. Driver did not have the other driver’s information and just wanted the incident logged. (6:53pm)
Friday, January 27:
- A 3-vehicle crash occurred at Main Street and Butters Row. Parties were arguing with a some pushing and shoving. Police assisted with the paperwork and sent everyone on their way. Minor damage to vehicles. No injuries. (6:24am)
- Police conducted school bus enforcement on Drury Lane and Loumac Road. No violations were witnessed. (7:21am)
- Marcos Roberto Luiz (30, Everett) was issued a summons for the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. (8:36am)
- Police notified RMLD and Verizon over a very long hanging power line over the roadway on High Street. Police shut down road as line was fixed. (94:1am)
- Fire Department responded to a possible vehicle fire on 93 North, near Exit 38. Vehicle was not on fire, just overheated. Police administered medical aid for a bloody nose, but driver refused further medical care. State Police arrived to handle scene. (3:28pm)
- Adriano Morillo (51, Lawrence) was issued a summons for leaving the scene of property damage. Morillo allegedly struck a vehicle on Lowell Street, near the 93 North Exit 38 ramp, and did not stop. (5:35pm)
- Market Basket employee reported a group of 2-3 juveniles were behind the building throwing milk trays. Police responded as the juveniles ran towards Ristuccia. Police noted milk trays dispersed, but no property damage done. Police encountered a juvenile on Stone Street who denied any knowledge of the incident. (9:14pm)
Saturday, January 28:
- Police noted a vehicle recently did donuts on the upper dirt lot at the Shriners Auditorium. (1:08am)
- A caller stated an intoxicated male kept calling his cell phone asking for a ride. Police left a message for the number given, telling him that the number he is trying to reach is a private number and to try to find a correct number to a cab company. He was also given the police department’s number if he needed help. (3:02am)
- Police notified Water Department of a water pipe break inside Allcoat Technology, Inc. on Eames Street. Water Department responded. (8:40am)
- A Concord Street resident reported he found a deceased rabbit in front of his residence. He believes his neighbor may have placed the rabbit there due to an ongoing issue between them. (9:30am)
- A Mass Ave caller reported a dead cat on his front lawn that must have been hit by a car. Animal Control Officer to retrieve by Monday. (4:20pm)
- Police issued 3 verbal warnings for fire lane violations in front of Market Basket. (5:00pm)
