WILMINGTON, MA — Attorney David R. DiCicco, age 62, of Wilmington, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully with his loving family at his side on January 31, 2017, following a courageous battle with cancer.
David was born in Brockton, MA on July 1, 1954; he was the cherished son of the late Valentino and Lola (Castelluzzi) DiCicco. David was raised and educated in Brockton; he graduated in the top of his class from Brockton High School in 1972. Following high school, David went on to further his education at the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Veterinarian Medicine and where he met the love of his life Carol Jaques. David returned to the Boston area and attended Suffolk University Law School, earning his Juris Doctor in Law in 1982.
David worked as an attorney for the Home Insurance Company before forming his own partnership which lasted for 20 years. Two years ago, David opened his own firm. A Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney, he continued to show a strong work ethic throughout his illness and always catered to his clients. David had an impeccable reputation and received immense satisfaction from helping his clients.
David and Carol moved to Wilmington in 1988 and married in 1991. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Dawn and Kelly; they were the light of his life. David cherished his role as a dad and showered his girls with unconditional love and support.
In his spare time, David enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, watching the Patriots and always looked forward to golfing with Dan. He also coached a number of soccer and softball teams in Wilmington.
David will be remembered as a very kind and generous man who loved his family and friends with all his heart. He will be greatly missed.
David was the beloved husband of Carol Jaques of Wilmington; devoted father of Dawn and Kelly DiCicco, both of New York City; dear brother of Paul and Helen DiCicco of Lake City, FL and Anne DiCicco of South Easton, MA; brother-in-law of Diane Jaques of Concord, MA; and loving uncle of Ryan, Elizabeth, Rose, Michelle, Kristen and Jennifer. David is also survived by many dear friends.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Saturday, February 4th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, February 3rd from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
