POLICE LOG for January 24: 3 Men Busted For Car Break-Ins; A Couple of Embarrassing Calls

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are THIRTEEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, January 24, 2017:

  • A Glen Road caller requested an ambulance for her husband. While on the line, caller stated her husband decided to drive himself to the hospital.  Police later spoke with the man, who was adamant about driving himself. Police contacted Winchester Hospital and confirmed he arrived. (2:19am)
  • A caller reported two men dressed in black rain gear were circling her vehicles on Beeching Avenue. Police responded and eventually arrested three individuals, two of which entered a homeowner’s shed. James V. Ramsey III (20, Essex) was arrested for B&E of vehicle in the night to commit a felony; larceny over $250; and receiving stolen property valued at over $250. Conor Brennan (22, Gloucester) was arrested for B&E of a building in the night to commit a felony; B&E of a vehicle in the night to commit a felony; and receiving stolen property valued at over $250. David P. Tupman (21, Gloucester) was arrested for B&E of a building in the night to a commit a felony; B&E of a vehicle in the night to commit a felony; receiving stolen property valued at over $250; possession of Class B Drug; possession of a Class C Drug; and possession of a Class E Drug. The three individuals broke into at least 7 vehicles.

  • A walk-in party reported the portable chainlink fence panels at Yentile Farm has blown over into the roadway. Police notified DPW. (4:44am)
  • A black 2015 Nissan Rogue struck a pole on Wisser Street. Vehicle towed. No injuries. RMLD and Veirzon notified. Damage also done to a homeowner’s fence. (8:27am)
  • A downed tree took down power lines on Roberts Road. Police notified WFD and Reading Light. DPW placed detour barriers. (9:24am)
  • A Forest Street caller reported their mailbox was vandalized overnight. (9:42pm)
  • A resident locked herself underneath her deck putting trash barrels back in and cannot get to lock on the outside. Police responded and freed her. (10:56am)
  • A resident called 911.  He told police he was just making sure 911 worked on his phone and that there was no emergency. (11:40am)
  • Police issued 5 parking citations in the MBTA Wilmington Center parking lot. (1:29pm)
  • Police issued a citation for failure to stop for a school bus on Salem Street. (2:47pm)
  • A Somerville Avenue caller reported his dog was just attacked by his neighbor’s dog in his yard. Animal Control Officer responded and advised neighbor of the leash law. (3:17pm)
  • A black 2014 Toyota Camry was driven into a ditch at C&J Lawnmower on Main Street. (4:25pm)
  • George A. Sawyer (45, Andover) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration. (4:38pm)
