POLICE LOG for January 22: Airsoft Gun Found In Parking Lot; Strange Letter Received

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SIX highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, January 22, 2017:

  • A Reading Avenue caller reported a suspicious vehicle in their neighbor’s driveway and unknown person in the garage. Police responded. Individual in question was house sitting for the neighbor. Situation checked OK. (6:28am)
  • A caller found a firearm in a holster with two magazines in the parking lot at K1 Speed in Fordham Road. Police responded and recovered the firearm, which was actually an airsoft gun. (8:52am)
  • A Denault Drive homeowner reported he received a letter in his mailbox from someone who wants to buy his house. The letter had a phone number attached, but no return information. He wanted the incident logged. (10:55am)
  • Police received report of an ATV riding around the field behind Town Hall. ATV was gone by the time police arrived. (1:17pm)
  • A deceased cat was reported on Ballardvale Street near Target. (1:19pm)
  • Police issued a handicap parking citation to a vehicle in the Target parking lot. (6:26pm)
