WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a list of FREE upcoming programs for adults, teens and kids at the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Registration begins 30 days prior to the event. Please register online using our Calendar of Events at www.wilmlibrary.org or by calling (978) 694-2099 (for Adult) or (978) 694-2098 (for Children/Teen). Adult Events

Digital Clouds *RR
Wednesday, February 1, 7 pm

Come learn about that mysterious Cloud. Technology Librarian, Brad McKenna, will discuss such cloud based technologies as email, file storage, music/movie streaming.

Winter Soups *RR
Thursday, February 2, 7 pm

Nothing is better than a hearty winter soup; unless you could take that one delicious soup, add a few ingredients and create an entirely different soup.  Chef Liz Barbour calls this a “progressive” soup and she is eager to walk you through the steps to prepare two soup recipes you can prepare at home.  Bring your favorite soup recipe and swap with the group.

Writing Group *RR

If you love to write and seek feedback, then join our writing group. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials in advance.  Open to all genres and levels. Led by local writing enthusiast,  Barbara Alevras.

History of the Lowell Boat Shop *RR
Monday, February 6, 2:30 pm
Located on the bank of the Merrimac River in Amesbury, MA,  Lowell’s Boat Shop is a working museum and National Historic Landmark as the oldest continuously working boat shop in the United States.  Established in 1793 by Simeon Lowell, the Shop continues to produce dories and skiffs in the Lowell tradition.  Our “Dory Story” extends through every phase of American history including the role we play today in education and preservation.

Cookin’ the Books *RR
Tuesday, February 7, 12 pm

Featured Cookbook: Portuguese Homestyle Cooking or Authentic Portuguese Cooking by Ana Patuleia Ortins
Not only will we cook from Ana’s cookbooks but she will join us at the meeting and give us some tips and ideas for our next cooking adventure. If you love to cook and enjoy talking about food and sharing recipes then this group is for you.  Pick up a copy of the cookbook (or find a recipe from the book online) and email your recipe selection to leader Lisa Crispin (lcrispin@wilmlibrary.org). Bring your dish to the meeting and enjoy sampling everyone’s dishes!

Kindergarten Book Club *RR
Wednesday, February 1, 3:45 pm
This book club is for kindergarteners who miss storytime or those who love to be read to.  We will read a book or two together, discuss it, and then do a fun activity.

LEGO Building

Show us your smarts at pub-style trivia! Play against your parents and friends, putting your pop culture knowledge to the test. The winning team walks off with prizes (and bragging rights!). Snacks are provided.
