10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (January 26, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are 10 things you need to know in Wilmington for Thursday, January 26, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see a chance of showers, mainly after 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

#2) The Abundant Life Christian School and Learning Center is holding a Fundraiser at Wilmington’s Panera Bread (228 Main Street, Wilmington Plaza) from 11am to 8pm. Bring this flyer and a percentage of your bill will benefit the school’s 8th Grade Field Trip to Washington, DC this May.

#3) Rocco’s Restaurant & Bar (193 Main Street) is hosting live music with Larry Gilbert at 6pm.

#4) Red Heat Tavern (300 Lowell Street) is hosting live music with April Renzella at 8pm.

#5) Tremezzo (2 Lowell Street) is hosting live music with Pianist Ricky Lauria at 8pm.

#6) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding a program on Essential Oils with Dianne McCarthy at 7pm. Learn more and register HERE.

#7) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding some of its typical Thursday activities:

  • Computer Class (9:15am)
  • Art Class (10am)
  • Aerobics (10:30am)
  • Knitting/Crocheting (11am)
  • Game Day (1pm)

#9) The WHS Girls Varsity Ice Hockey takes on St. Joseph Prep at Stoneham Ice Arena at 3:15pm.

#10) The Epilepsy Foundation’s New England Donation Center (335 Main Street, Wilmington) is holding a Donor Appreciation Days Celebration this week. From Sunday, January 22 to Saturday, January 28, from 10am to 5pm, drop off a donation of gently used clothing, books, toys or household items to the Center. There will be a daily drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card.  The person who brings in the largest donation during the week will win a Patriots Gear Fan Pack valued at $500. Refreshments will be served from 10am to 5pm, including coffee, donuts and bagels in the morning, and sandwiches and drinks in the afternoon. Make a difference to a family struggling with epilepsy by donating!
