WILMINGTON, MA — Pauline E. McCue (Ritchie), age 93, of Nashua, NH, formerly of Wilmington, MA and FL, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 22, 2017.
Pauline was born in Danvers, MA on August 10, 1923; she was the dear daughter of the late Gardner and Rose Ritchie. Pauline was raised and educated in Wilmington, MA and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1941.
Pauline married her “sweetheart” Tom McCue on October 3, 1943; the couple resided in Wilmington, MA where they raised their family. Pauline cherished the time she spent with her children and always looked forward to the visits from her grandchildren; they were the highlight of her day.
Pauline was also very active in the community; she took quite an interest in politics and served on a few boards in the Town. Pauline was also very religious and an active communicant of St. Thomas of Villanova Church for many years; Pauline helped out where she could and chaperoned many times for the CYO.
Pauline was always busy working in and out of the house; besides raising her family she had several jobs throughout the years at Boston & Maine Railroad, Transitron in Wakefield, MA and Diamond Crystal in Wilmington, MA. Pauline was a hard worker and always willing to go the extra mile to get everything done.
Pauline loved to spend her summers at the family home in Tuftonboro, New Hampshire on lake Winnipesaukee with her family and friends.
In 1975, Pauline and Tom headed to Florida where they lived for 30 years before moving back to Nashua, NH in 2005 to be closer to her family and grandchildren. In her spare time, Pauline enjoyed going to Bingo and an occasional trip to Foxwoods to try her luck.
Pauline will be fondly remembered for her love of people and her ability to socialize wherever she went; she was a wonderful lady who will be missed by all.
Pauline was the beloved wife of the late Thomas E. McCue, devoted mother of Patricia Beaushene & her husband Bill of Lunenburg, William McCue of Bradford, ME and Brian McCue & his wife Kathleen of Litchfield, NH, loving “Grammy” of Thomas McCue, Megan McCue, Ross Blackwood, Robert Beaushene and Jessica Beaushene, cherished daughter of the late Gardner and Rose (Porter) Ritchie, dear sister of John Ritchie of Wilmington, Robert Ritchie & his wife Elaine of Tewksbury, the late Mary Hinckley and Charles Ritchie.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Friday, January 27th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, January 26th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Pauline’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
