WILMINGTON, MA — Here are SIX highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, January 16, 2017:
- A citizen was concerned about the pole/gate missing to gain access to the fishing pier at Silver Lake. Police recovered the item from the water. (12:24pm)
- Ronald A. Greene (38, Medford) was arrested for shoplifting by container switching at Target. (3:30pm)
- A caller reported she witnesses an assault of a male party in her Avalon apartment building. The suspects fled from the scene in a black Audi sedan in an unknown direction. (3:37pm)
- A West Street caller reported a scam phone call that stated he had won a $9,000 grant, but needed to provide an iTunes gift card. (3:42pm)
- A caller reported two dogs were in two separate vehicles in the Market Basket parking lot. Caller was concerned for their well-being. Police responded. 1 vehicle was already gone. Owner of the other vehicle came out and dog checked OK. (4:33pm)
- A passerby reported 3 male parties smoking a marijuana in a blue Toyota near Speedway on Main Street. Police responded and detected the odor of marijuana, but no physical evidence located and no actual public consumption observed. Parities were advised to cease activity. (9:40pm)
