WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for the week of Sunday, January 1, 2017.
Sunday, January 1:
- Action Ambulance requesting police assistance with a patient at Care One At Wilmington attacking crew and staff. Crew was able to transport patient. (4:01am)
- Green 2009 Toyota Corolla rolled over on 93 North, near Exit 40. Wilmington Police notified State Police. No injuries noted. (5:04am)
- A white 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis struck a RMLD pole on Woburn Street. Car towed. No injuries noted. Police requested DPW sand the area. (8:05am)
- A Houghton Road caller reported that twice of the last 2 weeks, he located an empty alcohol container at edge of his property and his driveway marker pulled out of the ground. He wanted the incident logged. (10:37am)
- A Roosevelt Road caller reported her large front window just shattered. She did not see any car or person that may have caused it. Police responded. A rock was thrown through the window. Police checked the area and did not locate anyone suspicious. Resident requested extra patrols. (8:32pm)
- A Lake Street resident reported someone shot through her window approximately 45 minutes ago. (9:36pm)
- A Grove Avenue resident reported a rock was thrown through his window. He noted a small dark colored SUV left on Cottage Street towards Main Street. Police stopped the vehicle in question on Mass Avenue and determined the vehicle was not involved. (10:45pm)
Monday, January 2:
- Liban Ali (25, Wilmington) was arrested on a warrant. (6:41am)
- A Taft Road resident reported his vehicle’s windows were smashed sometime overnight. Police responded and determined incident happened around 9pm. Residents heard noise and noticed an older model gold Toyota Camry near the damaged vehicle. (8:37am)
- A walk-in party reported her license to carry was stolen from her purse while in Foxboro. (3:48pm)
- A wallet was found in a snow bank in front of TJ Maxx in the Wilmington Plaza. Owner came to the station to retrieve. (4:27pm)
- A Lake Street caller reported his neighbor cut the zip line for his dog’s leash. Police responded. The zip line was not cut. Neighbor believed it was extended too far into her property. Neighbors had a dispute over dog waste which has since been picked up. Situation clear. (8:48pm)
- Police was flagged down on Middlesex Avenue and notified of a erratic driver driving a gray Toyota going west on 62. Police were unable to locate. (11:38pm)
Tuesday, January 3:
- A gray 2007 Toyota Camry and a black 1995 Nissan were involved in a minor crash near McDonald’s on Main Street. No injuries noted. (7:26am)
- The traffic lights at Middlesex Avenue and Federal Street were reported out. RMLD confirmed a power outage in the area. Lights eventually came back on. (7:43am)
- Police issued 7 citations in the Wilmington Center MBTA Parking Lot. (12:13pm-12:24pm)
- A Henry L. Drive resident reported his identity was stolen. (5:57pm)
- Police moved along 8 vehicles from the fire line in front of Market Basket. (6:08pm)
- John R. Tobin (31, Wilmington) was arrested on a warrant. (6:33pm)
Wednesday, January 4:
- Jonathan R. Antonowitch (36, Haverhill) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration and motor vehicle not meeting RMV safety standards. The black 2003 Chevy Impala was pulled over on Pine Avenue. (12:30am)
- A caller reported a past breaking & entering involving Spry Moving on Industrial Way sometime over the weekend with missing property. (11:32am)
- A new property owner called stating his house is abandoned, but his wife drove by and saw people going in and out. Police responded and noted the side porch door was open and it appeared a stack of mail was dropped off. Everything else checked secure. (2:51pm)
- John D. Pellerin (58, N. Reading) was arrested for OUI Liquor (2nd Offense) and Marked Lanes Violation. A caller reported an erratic operator on Wildwood Street traveling under 10 MPH. Police stopped the vehicle in front of the high school. (6:24pm)
- Police notified Mass Highway of a large pot hole on Main Street by Clark Street. (7:29pm)
Thursday, January 5:
- A caller reported approximately 30 minutes ago, a school bus was stopped at Woburn Street and West, with red flashing lights on and stop sign out. A black 2008 Chrysler Pacifica drove through and nearly struck a child. Vehicle continued on Woburn STreet School toward Lowell Street. (8:34am)
- Police assisted a teacher with a motor vehicle lockout in the high school teachers’ parking lot. (12:59pm)
- State Police responded to a rollover, with an injury, between Exit 38 and 39 on 93 North. (3:14pm)
- Police responded to reports of an erratic operator on Main Street, who struck a guardrail near U-Haul. Police checked with the operator, who claimed he was avoiding debris in the roadway. Situation checked OK. (3:40pm)
- A blue 2000 Nissan Pathfinder, a blue 2013 Chevy Silverado and a white 2016 Toyota Camry were involved in a crash on Main Street. No injuries noted. (4:54pm)
- A Grove Street resident reported there was an injured owl in the rear of her residence. Police referred her to the Environmental Police. (4:59pm)
- Joshua A. Kivlehan (23, Wilmington) was arrested on warrants, forgery, and receiving stolen property under $250. in the MBTA Parking Lot. (5:41pm)
- Police issued a citation to a white 2015 Chevy Silverado on Route 125 for failing to yield to emergency vehicles. (7:13pm)
Friday, January 6:
- A 2-car crash caused damage to a mailbox at 221 Chestnut Street. No injuries noted. Both vehicles towed. (7:06am)
- A 2-car crash caused damage to a fence at 668 Woburn Street. No injuries noted. (7:24am)
- A brown 2015 Toyota Sienna and a cement truck were involved in a crash on Fordham Road. Fire Department transported two individuals. (8:48am)
- A Deming Way resident reported a scam phone call about winning the the Publisher’s Clearing House. Incident was logged. (11:15am)
- Bennevento’s dropped and subsequently picked up concrete spilled in the roadway at Salem Street and Woburn Street. (12:57pm)
- A Coolidge Road resident reported a scam phone call involving Microsoft. Incident was logged. (5:14pm)
- Police gave verbal warning to four vehicles parked in fire line in front of Market Basket. (6:09pm)
- A caller reported she was followed and approached by a man in a pickup truck while she was walking her dogs. The man stopped her to ask questions about dogs, claiming he has a dog walking business, and asked for her address so that he may leave a business card in her mailbox. Caller did not give her address. Police located the man’s truck on Wilton Drive. Man told police he had a past business and was interested in pursuing animal care again. Police advised him that this was not the correct means of building a clientele. (8:14pm)
- Police were out with several youths in the field near Boutwell. Youth were building an art project. Situation checked OK. (9:52pm)
Saturday, January 7:
- Gloria Granda Holmes (49, Lowell) was taken into protective custody from the parking lot at Winchester Family Medical Center on Salem Street. (12:45am)
- A vehicle struck a guardrail on Route 125 and Ballardvale Street. State Police notified and will handle. (5:27am)
- A caller reported a hit & run with no airbag deployment. No injuries noted. Minor damage done to driver’s side panel. A green SUV struck a black 2008 Honda Civic at Glen Road and Middlesex Avenue. Police unable to locate vehicle. (1:49pm)
- A caller lost her gold iPhone 6 yesterday while walking her dog in the Glen Road area. (2:24pm)
- A town plow reported a residence on Ledgewood Road was blocking the roadway with his van and trash cans. This has been a longstanding issue. Police responded and had resident move vehicle. (3:12pm)
- A truck and three cars were doing “donuts” in the snow on Research Drive, near the water tower. Police sent them on their way. (5:20pm)
- A caller reported he was assaulted by his girlfriend in the Target parking lot, who has since left. Police responded and took a report. (5:57pm)
- Police stopped a 12-year-old from operating a snowmobile in the roadway on Carter Lane. (7:40pm)
- A caller reported she discovered her daughter sent nude pictures to an unknown party online. Police took a report. (9:02pm)
