POLICE LOG for January 6: Woman Followed By Man In Pickup Truck, WPD Offer Business Advice; Scam Calls

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, January 6, 2017:

  • A 2-car crash caused damage to a mailbox at 221 Chestnut Street. No injuries noted. Both vehicles towed. (7:06am)
  • A 2-car crash caused damage to a fence at 668 Woburn Street. No injuries noted. (7:24am)
  • A brown 2015 Toyota Sienna and a cement truck were involved in a crash on Fordham Road. Fire Department transported two individuals. (8:48am)
  • A Deming Way resident reported a scam phone call about winning the the Publisher’s Clearing House. Incident was logged. (11:15am)
  • Bennevento’s dropped and subsequently picked up concrete spilled in the roadway at Salem Street and Woburn Street. (12:57pm)
  • A Coolidge Road resident reported a scam phone call involving Microsoft. Incident was logged. (5:14pm)
  • Police gave verbal warning to four vehicles parked in fire line in front of Market Basket. (6:09pm)
  • A caller reported she was followed and approached by a man in a pickup truck while she was walking her dogs. The man stopped her to ask questions about dogs, claiming he has a dog walking business, and asked for her address so that he may leave a business card in her mailbox. Caller did not give her address. Police located the  man’s truck on Wilton Drive.  Man told police he had a past business and was interested in pursuing animal care again. Police advised him that this was not the correct means of building a clientele. (8:14pm)
  • Police were out with several youths in the field near Boutwell. Youth were building an art project. Situation checked OK. (9:52pm)
