LIBRARY LINEUP: Holiday Puppet Show On Dec. 21; Storytime Registration Now Open

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a list of FREE upcoming programs for adults, teens and kids at the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Registration begins 30 days prior to the event. Please register online using our Calendar of Events at www.wilmlibrary.org or by calling (978) 694-2099 (for Adult) or (978) 694-2098 (for Children/Teen). Adult Events

Movie Night The Magnificent Seven *RR
Tuesday, December 20, 6:30pm
In this remake of the 1960’s classic, seven gunslingers join forces to protect a small town from mining tycoon and his goons, who plan to seize the residents’ land by force. PG-13 Please note children under 10 must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Creative Writing Skill Building *RR
Tuesday, December 27, 7pm
Learn and apply writing tips, tools, and techniques shared by published authors and other writing experts. Open to all who want to improve their writing skills. Please provide email address when registering so you can receive prep materials in advance. Led by local writing enthusiast Barbara Alevras.

Cookin’ the Books *RR
Tuesday, January 3, 12pm

Featured Cookbook: The Food Lab by J. Kenji Lopez-Alt
If you love to cook and enjoy talking about food and sharing recipes, then this group is for you.  Pick up a copy of the cookbook (or find a recipe from the book online) and email your recipe selection to leader Lisa Crispin (lcrispin@wilmlibrary.org). Bring your dish to the meeting and enjoy sampling everyone’s dishes!

Kids & Teen Events

Storytime Registration
Registration for winter storytime sessions is underway. Register at www.wilmlibrary.org  or call 978-694-2098. Storytimes help build a foundation for a lifelong love of books and reading. Kids will enjoy age-appropriate books, songs, rhymes, movement activities and more.

R.E.A.D. Middle Grade Book Club *RR

Star Mag
Wednesday, December 21, 3:45pm  
Drop in to help create this magazine written by, for and about kids, and published by the library.  Bring in finished, original artwork, puzzles, poems, comics, jokes, or create it while you are here. Grades 3-5 

Sparky’s Puppets: Stories From Snowy Lands *RR
Wednesday, December 21, 6:30pm
Watch Jack Frost’s magic bring a snowman to life. Laugh at the antics of a boastful bear who goes ice fishing and visit a shoemaker’s shop on a wintry day! Ages 3+
