POLICE LOG for December 1: Crash On Butters Row; Lost Engagement Ring

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, December 1, 2016:

  • Police notified Comcast of a low hanging wire on Chestnut Street. (12:32pm)
  • Police received report of a woman panhandling in an unidentified parking lot on Main Street, causing issues for people trying to park. Police responded. Woman was awaiting a bus back to Lowell. (12:55pm)
  • Police transported a student with a sprained ankle from the Middle School to her home. (2:11pm)
  • Police issued a citation to a driver for failure to yield to emergency vehicles in front of the Wilmington Arts Center on Middlesex Avenue. (2:21pm)
  • A gray 2016 Chevy Tahoe and a black 2011 Nissan Sentra were involved in a crash at Butters Row and Main Street. No injuries noted. Both vehicles towed. (5:19pm)
  • A caller reported she lost her platinum engagement ring sometime on November 23. She was shopping at Target in town and also stopped at People’s United Bank on Route 38. (7:46pm)
  • A caller reported his girlfriend called him in a panic after arriving home because her mother’s purse and phone were there and the oven was left on, but she was not home, which is unlike her. While on the phone with his girlfriend, the line was disconnected and he was unable to reestablish contact. Police responded. The mother had arrived back home and the situation checked OK. (8:11pm)
