POLICE LOG for November 26: Christmas Decorations Vandalized; Theft At Wildwood Cemetery

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, November 26, 2016:

  • Police located a stolen vehicle out of North Reading on Concord Street. (1:06am)
  • A Nichols Street homeowner reported a man knocked on her door, and when she opened it, he tried to enter while saying something unintelligibly about a snowmobile. Caller pushed him out and closed the door.  Man was described as white, in his 50’s, with a beard and flannel pajama pants. Police were unable to locate. (8:23am)
  • A Shady Lane Drive caller reported Christmas decorations were vandalized overnight. (9:41am)
  • Library reported the street sign for Cherokee Lane and sign pole was found behind the library. Police notified DPW. (10:52am)
  • Police reported beer bottles and cans strewn about at the back of the student parking lot, near the woodline. Police notified DPW. (10:55am)
  • Police received report that flowers and mementos were taken from a Wildwood cemetery gravesite sometime since Thursday. (1:45pm)
  • A caller walking his dog in the woods near Fordham Road reported hearing gunshots. Police checked the area and found nothing. (4:28pm)
