WILMINGTON, MA — We are less than a month away from We’re One Wilmington’s (WOW) 6th Annual Festival of Trees, which will take place on Saturday, December 3rd from 9AM to 9PM and Sunday, December 4th from 9AM to 3PM at Villanova Hall, 126 Middlesex Avenue in Wilmington. This free family-friendly event features a raffle of fantastic holiday trees, wreaths and baskets. Pizza, baked goods and refreshments will be available and lots of entertainment is planned throughout the weekend.
We are delighted that several community groups will be on hand at the Festival selling items for their winter fundraisers including: the Wilmington Community Fund with their annual Christmas ornaments, Boy Scouts with holiday wreaths and the Northside PAC with Wildcat gear – just to name a few.
Again this year, the Festival will feature WOW’s annual Angel Giving Tree. Children and adults throughout Wilmington decorate ornaments for the tree, which are tagged with holiday gift requests for community members in need. Visitors are invited to take a tagged ornament; purchase the gift items requested, and drop it back to the Festival with the label attached. The gift donor then keeps the Angel ornament as a token of appreciation for their good deed.
Please visit our website http://www.onewilmington.org/festival-of-trees/ for additional event details.
WOW is still accepting tree, wreath and basket donations for the Festival. All donations are tax-deductible and without them our event would not be such a huge success. Donations needed include:
- Decorated artificial trees, gift baskets or wreaths
- Cases of water, juice, soda or items for the bake sale
Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase holiday gifts for local families in need and to help fund WOW’s other good will initiatives throughout the year.
For information about making a donation, please contact Becky McGrath at mcgrathbecky@gmail.com or register your donation using our online form at http://www.onewilmington.org/festival-of-trees/treebasketwreath-donations/
