WILMINGTON, MA — Below are Wilmington Youth Soccer in-town game summaries from Saturday, November 5, 2016.

Boys Grade 1 Games:

DC United vs. Chicago Fire
The crowd was kept on the edge of their seats this week as the DC United, led by the offensive skills of Jake Gryglik and Brady Cassidy resulted in scoring opportunities by Mark Cataldo, Griffin Crowe and Bijon Pourshadi. The defense was not to be left out of this one either as Jackson Cipolle and Arnav Dwivedi and kept the ball out of their zone for much of the game.

Boys Grade 2 Games:

LA Galaxy vs. Chicago Fire
The Chicago Fire was also impressive on the offensive side of the ball with great skill being displayed by Jack Cronin, Collin Holman and Ben Harris leading to goals by Jack Morin, Jake Arsenault, and Jonathan Malley. The defense showcased their skills today with Richard Holland, Carter Callis, and Aiden Harris keeping the ball out of their zone for much of the game; while the goal keeping team of Jack Cronin and Ben Harris made this game close.

NE England Revolution vs. DC United
The DC United offense frustrated throughout the game. Alternating and showing strong efforts from a goalkeeping line-up featuring stars such as Zach Atwater, Ian Heos and Nate Anderson proved they are always a tough team to deal with. Impressive footwork by Cameron Molina, Preston Hunt and Aiden O’Hearn kept pressuring the D.C. defensive only to come up short time after time. The Revolution were missing key players but expects to have a full complement at the next match-up as their season comes to a close versus a tough Chicago Fire.

Girls Grade 2 Games:

Boston Breakers vs. Portland Thorns
The air was full of excitement, as the much-anticipated match between Boston Breakers and Portland Thorns commenced. Fantastic ball skills were displayed by Madison Forbush, Anna Heipli, Charrlotte Kiley, Hailey Reguera, Claire Connelly resulting in goals by Alliana Pilcher, Abigail Engvaldsen, Megan Smith, Emma Nolan, Elisabeth Gillis. The midfield and defensive play of Molly Guyette, Mia Barresi, Leah Hanafin, and Katlyn Costello kept the Boston Breakers in excellent shape.
