WILMINGTON, MA — Barbara A. Mucci-Reardon (Wheeler), age 77, formerly of Wilmington, MA, left this temporary home to be with the Lord in her eternal home in Heaven on October 25, 2016.
Barbara was born in Melrose, MA on July 26, 1939; she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Elsie (Lord) Wheeler.
Barbara was raised and educated in Reading, MA; graduating from Reading High School with the Class of 1957. She went on to continue her education at Lowell Academy Hairdressing School.
Barbara was known to be a “care giver” to everyone she met; Barbara took classes to become a CNA and graduated top of her class. Barbara worked in several nursing homes throughout the years but she mostly did private in home care; her kindness and compassion towards the elderly always made them feel loved.
Barbara also had a love for taking care of children; her home had an “open door” policy and everyone was made to feel welcomed. Barbara’s house was the local “hot spot” for her kids friends where they could hang out, work on cars, and have countless pajama parties over the years.
As an active member of the North Reading Baptist Church for many years Barbara always wanted to do the Lord’s work. Barbara was woman of great faith and a true Christian who’s love for the Lord helped her through many trying times in her life and helped her to find peace.
Barbara was the wife of the late John Mucci, and is survived by her children Cynthia Twombly & husband Brian of Billerica and John Mucci & wife Michelle of Woburn, her grandchildren Courtney Meaney & husband Michael, Kevin Twombly, Matthew Twombly, Emily Mucci, and Great-granddaughter Alison Meaney. She was the sister of Bruce Wheeler, Clyde “Buddy”Wheeler both of Lawrence, Judi Bowen of Tewksbury, Lynette Wheeler of Freemont, NH and Bobby Wheeler of South Boston. Barbara is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations in Barbara’s memory may be madeto St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
