WILMINGTON, MA — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, October 29, 2016:
- An Aldrich Road caller reported their mailbox was vandalized overnight. Police believe someone struck it with a pumpkin. (8:24am)
- A caller reported the grass area at the old Swain School location appears to have been ripped up by a vehicle sometime during the night. Police responded and observed tire marks across the Town Common and old Swain School area. Police took photos of the damage. (9:28am)
- Police assisted with parking at Town Hall due to early voting and a football clinic. (10:10am)
- Police issued a summons to Jose Ortiz (43, Haverhill) was the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding. Ortiz was pulled over on Eames Street. Vehicle was towed. (3:03pm)
- Police received report of a turkey struck by a vehicle on Burlington Avenue. Police checked the area and could not locate the turkey. (4:26pm)
- Individual flagged down a police officer, who reported he was invlved in a hit and run while parked in the Market Basket parking lot. (5:50pm)
- Michelleynn M. Regan (51, Woburn) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration and having an uninsured motor vehicle. Regan was pulled over near the Route 38 Smoke Shop on Main Street. (9:02pm)
- Police received three calls regarding a group of teens in the area of Oakdale Road speeding, throwing bottles and possibly fighting. Police responded. Witness reported teens were running behind her house and appeared intoxicated. All teens left the area on foot. (9:32pm)
