WILMINGTON, MA — Below are Wilmington Youth Soccer in-town game summaries from Saturday, October 29, 2016.
Girls Kinders
Washington Spirit vs. Portland Thorns
The Portland Thorns Olivia Smith, Alexis Wang, and Madison Scanlon stayed on their toes creating many scoring opportunities. The play of Gabriella Larosee, Lila Rosa, and Taylor Stone shut down the other end of the field on defense that set the tone for this game.
Boys Grade 2 games:
NE Revolution vs. LA Galaxy
It what can only be described as Mud Ball 2016, the New England Revolution took on the LA Galaxy in this heated battle. The tone was set early on by the Revolution potent attack as Cole Falk got on the board in the 3rd minute of play. Battling for every ball, the Revs worked as one unit as Preston Hunt, Cameron Molina, Jackson Hegarty and Nate Anderson manned the middle of field, while the back-bone and tight defense of Aiden O’Hearn, Joshua Nille help solidify a strong finish.
On the 12th minute mark, Daniel D’Agusta put the Revs up by 2, and finishing off the scoring in the second half was Michael O’Hearn. The top notch goal tending play of Zach Atwater ensured it would be a good day for the Revolution.
Chicago Fire vs. DC United
The air was full of excitement, as the much-anticipated match between the Chicago Fire and D.C. United commenced. Fantastic ball skill were displayed by Ben Harris, Jake Arsenault, Aiden Harris, and Jack Cronin, resulting in goals by Dillan Roberts, Collin Holman, and Jonathan Malley. The midfield and defensive play of Jack Morin, Richard Holland, and Carter Callis kept the Chicago Fire in excellent shape. The crowd roared to their feet when the goalkeepers Aiden Harris, Jake Arsenault, and Carter Callis made some spectacular saves.
