WILMINGTON, MA — The Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli Lodge #2183 of Wilmington ran a successful fundraiser on Saturday, October 22, 2016, in support of the victims of the terrible earthquake tragedy in the Lazio section of Italy. Thanks to the generosity of many businesses, members and friends, the Lodge raised over $1,800.00, which will be donated to victims through the Sons of Italy Foundation.
It was a fun night with a pizza and salad dinner served along with delicious homemade desserts and dancing throughout the evening. The hall was generously donated by the Tewksbury VFW, and the pizza was donated by 6 different businesses in both Wilmington and Tewksbury. A fantastic “Deck of Cards” Raffle was held with prizes donated by North Shore Music Center (2 tickets to West Side Story), The Wild Duck in the North End, 2 Boston Celtics tickets donated by Mike Giannasoli of the North End, $25 Gift Certificate donated by AJ’s Pizza, a $25 Gift Certificate donated by member Susan Tocci, and 2 beautiful Gift Baskets donated by the Wakefield Sons of Italy Lodge.
Sons of Italy members from the Tewksbury, Wakefield and Winthrop lodges also attended to help make the night so successful.
The Wilmington lodge is grateful to the following businesses who donated pizza: Rocco’s Restaurant, Wilmington House of Pizza, and Michael’s Place – all of Wilmington; Pizza Mia, Sal’s Pizza, and Lisa’s Pizza – all of Tewksbury. The salads were made and donated by lodge members Kayla and Diane Boebel.
A special thank you is extended to many friends in the North End of Boston who donated to this important night.
