WHS GIRLS XC: Wildcats Drop Final Regular Season Meet, Freshmen Shine

WILMINGTON, MA – The Wilmington High School Girls Cross Country team (1-6) was defeated by Burlington High, 36-23, on Tuesday, October 25, in the team’s final home and dual meet of the season.

Freshman Sam Burke took 3rd overall with a time of 21:41.

“Sam is another freshman who has shown consistent improvement all season. If she continues her training year-round, she will have a bright future for herself,” praised Head Coach Brian Schell.

Freshman Heather Ritson is another rookie who shows great promise.  She ran a personal record by almost 3 minutes, finishing 13th at 25:26.

“Heather continued to improve and can be a huge asset to the team in the future if she continues to push as she has these last few meets,” noted Schell.
